Summer Competition 2014

The competition has now closed for this year. You’ll be able to read about the results shortly.

There are two classes of DPI (JPEG images) again this year. You are encouraged to submit up to three digital images in each class:

  • Class 1: Open – any image, no specific theme
  • Class 2: The theme is ‘Red’

Entry requirements:

  1. Photos are to be submitted electronically in jpg format. The maximum dimensions should be 1400 pixels wide and 1050 pixels high. Please resize your images before submitting them. If you have any difficulty in resizing your images, please contact any of the committee members and they will be pleased to assist.
  2. Your name and the photo title should be included in the file name.
  3. Photos entered into each class can be manipulated as desired.
  4. Please submit you photos to Jane at ASAP. No entries will be accepted after May 16th.
  5. Photos do not need to have been taken recently but should be ones that you haven’t used previously in competition at St Agnes Photographic Club.

Our judge this year is Bryan Crick from the Cornwall Photographic Alliance. Bryan gave us a very interesting and informative talk last autumn on photographing fungi has kindly agreed to judge our competition this year.

Competition results will be given out at our meeting on Tuesday 10th June at the WI hall.

PS: If you’re looking for a program to use to resize and manipulate your photos, have look at Gimp*. It’s an open source program, similar to Photoshop, and it’s free to download and use. It has a RAW file plugin and there are many tutorials on how to use it – just google for what you want to do!
