The session will be presented by Dave Bourne. He will show how to use free software (GIMP) to edit a photograph, but the principles are similar for other editing packages. Topics covered will include: cropping, sharpening, de-saturating, brightness/contrast, re-sizing, removing unwanted objects in the picture (cloning) and how to save the modified image. Also covered, very briefly, will be RAW compatibility with GIMP (and the advantage of using RAW) and GIMP’s support for using layers. The talk will be aimed at those with little or no image processing experience.
If you are interested in participating, please e-mail Dave Bourne (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Monday 10th December so that he can book a suitable sized room.
