Cost: On arrival inform the lady at the reception that you are a member of the St Agnes Photographic Club and you will receive the discounted entry rate of £7:50.

What to Photograph: The gardens are a wonderland for the photographer and is rated among the 80 top gardens in the world. The website will give you some idea of the scope for photography, whether it be the hydrangea valley, champion trees, stream, ponds, water fowl, gunnera, bamboo, Helford beach or perhaps a few candid images of others enjoying the garden.

Garden website: http://www.trebahgarden.co.uk/garden.html

You could concentrate on shapes and dappled lighting, so a macro lens, tripod and a reflector will be the order of the day.

Facilities: The site boasts the excellent Planters Cafe or alternatively you may opt for a flask and snack in the gardens. The shop contains some postcards from that young Cornish-based photographer, David Chapman. You may wish to have a look at these before you enter the gardens.
