Field Trip: Visit to Geevor Mine & Botallack Area

May 19, 2013 @ 9:30 am – 4:30 pm Europe/London Timezone

Guided tour around the Geevor site, followed by lunch in the restaurant. After lunch there will be an opportunity for a gentle walk around the mining heritage at Botallack (including the famous Crowns engine houses set in the cliff side) and an optional visit to the National Trust engine house at Levant. The area between Geevor and Botallack is steeped in mining heritage and there should be some superb photo opportunities and a grand day out!

PLEASE try to arrange to car share if you can!

Meet at St Agnes Public Car Park at 09:30 a.m. or in Geevor’s car park at 10:15 a.m. as we need to enter as a group. The special group entry fee is £7.20 per person. The lunch menu comprises either a Sunday roast or home made pasties. Pasties will need to be pre-ordered and a table reservation finalised, so an e-mail asking for numbers and pasty orders will be circulated some days before the trip.

WEATHER INFO: this trip will go ahead at the time stated, even if the weather is terrible, as there is an indoors element to the day. We can then change our plans for the outdoors option if we need to.
